About Deaf Expo

Welcome back and we're finally back after our last expo held in Auckland in 2010.

We had our first Deaf Expo in 2007 to celebrate our successful NZSL Act. There were over 200 people who attended the Deaf Expo and dinner in the evening.

We had our 2nd Deaf Expo in 2010 to support Deaf Women with Breast Cancer. We worked collaboratively with the Breast Cancer Society, Deaf Community throughout NZ and other organisations that supported the great cause.

We are now encouraging and supporting the Deaf community to establish a mini Deaf Expo in their local area. We are thrilled that Merge are having their first Deaf Expo in Auckland in September to support the International Week of the Deaf 2017.

We would like to see and encourage the other Deaf communities throughout NZ to do the same thing. We are happy to promote and share information on your behalf.

The key focus of the Deaf Expo is for the Deaf community to gather and share information to other communities. It is important that we work together as a united front.

We NZ Deaf Expo would like to establish a Nationwide Expo to involve both hearing and deaf people to share and promote their services. We would provide educational and resource materials to the public and deaf communities.

We will be supporting a cause as we did in 2010 which was to support Women with Breast Cancer and people with Cancer.
The money raised went to help create resources eg CD or needs of equipment. We are looking forward to a major Expo in 2019. More information will come at later dates.
